The ministry of confirmation gives students in the seventh and eighth grades the opportunity to discover in greater depth their Christian faith, while preparing to become active adult members of Our Saviour’s through a program of study, participation and service.
Confirmation classes are held on Tuesdays from mid-September to mid-May. Two sessions are offered – 4:00 pm and 7:00 pm – to accommodate busy schedules. Using the Here We Stand interactive program, the students study the Bible and Lutheran theology, work at service projects, and participate in other aspects of church life with their peers.
After two years of preparation, students affirm their baptisms in the rite of confirmation, which usually occurs on Pentecost Sunday near the end of May.
